EDUCATION
London Film School, MA in Filmmaking, with distinction - 2006 - 2010
Orsi Nagypál is a Hungarian screenwriter and film director who graduated with distinction from the London Film School in 2010. Over the past 15 years, she has directed numerous Hungarian and international—primarily American—television series and two features. Her most recent work in Hungary was directing four episodes of the epic historical series Rise of the Raven, which was the highest EU budget project of 2024 Immediately afterward, she was invited to the U.S. market to direct a new action- and emotion-packed medieval drama for the highly successful Robin Hood production in 2025, where she directed Sean Bean in a Lionsgate/MGM+ production.
Orsi is particularly interested in the everyday heroes of life, human sexuality and relationships, complex female characters, and the journeys we take to find ourselves—often in opposition to social expectations. She enjoys blending humor with drama, the provocative with the ordinary, and sensuality with awkward situations, much like life itself. Alongside her filmmaking career, she is also the frontwoman and guitarist of the all-female punk & hip-hop band The PinUps.
